THE EXHIBITION
Through a series of digital paintings, Elin presents dragons not as distant legends but as the embodiment of the qualities that continue to draw her to the genre: power, beauty, freedom, and, most importantly, the presence of a compelling story.
Fairy tales play a significant role in this inspiration, particularly their promise of hope. At the heart of a strong fairy tale lies the assurance that darkness can be overcome, that light ultimately prevails. These narratives remind us that if we’re living through a dark moment then it’s not the end yet, and within Dragons & Dreamscapes, dragons become symbols of this belief.

THE ARTIST
Elin Viking is a fantasy artist based in Linköping. Often referred to as “Viking” by those around her, a nickname inspired by her resilience in cold, wintry climates.
Encouraged from an early age by a family with a shared interest in painting, creativity has always been a natural and supported part of her life. Unrestricted by medium, she works fluidly across traditional and digital forms, from pen and paper to paint on canvas and digital illustration. For her, the act of creating is central, regardless of the tools involved.
Largely self-taught, Elin has developed her artistic practice through exploration. She studied graphic design in upper secondary school (gymnasiet), she grounded the guidelines for the practice.
