She is [ _____ ] is an exhibition that celebrates the limitless essence of being a woman. Through evocative imagery open to interpretation, each piece invites the viewer to assign their own meaning, shaping a narrative as personal as it is universal.
The blank space in the title represents possibility—she is freedom, she is strength, she is resilience, she is whatever you see, feel, and believe. Women embody countless identities: empowered, nurturing, rebellious, successful, fragile, fierce. There is no single definition—only infinite expressions.
This exhibition is an invitation to reflect, to challenge, and to celebrate the complexity of womanhood in all its forms. What do you see? Who is she to you?
THE ARTISTS
Mayela X. Poveda is a Systems Developer who is deeply passionate about art and creativity in all its forms. This love for artistic expression is something she inherited from her parents, both creative in their own fields. Since childhood, she would sit on the porch, drawing and bringing to life whatever came to mind—without limits. That freedom shaped her, allowing her to grow both as a person and as an artist. Her inspiration comes from everyday life—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Art has become her way of externalizing emotions, a necessary outlet for someone who is naturally shy. Through her work, she gives shape to feelings that might otherwise go unspoken.
Josefin Lidh is a visual artist, freelance illustrator and UX/graphic designer. Her inspiration comes from what she sees around her, often in small details which others might overlook. Her images come to life from a variation and sometimes combination of analogue and digital techniques. In her own words: "When I create, I strive to have a playful approach where excitement is the driving force. In a world that can easily feel threatening, stressful and overwhelming, I hope, with my images, to be able to contribute to lifting and lightening up, as well as to create relatable moments."
Joana Santos is an entrepreneur that has always been drawn to creativity, but never truly considered herself an artist. Art, for her, has been a means of expression—a way to translate thoughts, emotions, phases, desires, and hopes into something tangible. Each piece offers a glimpse into her mind, a reflection of the unseen parts of herself that she shares with friends, family, and even strangers. Through her work she invites others to discover an unknown version of her.
Cesia - Noctua is an artist who loves to create many different cute ideas that pops into her head. More often than not it’s soft, adorable and whimsical little creatures and things that make her smile, and hopefully make others smile too. In her works she likes to use colorful pastels that draw attention but are not too overwhelming to the eye. She mostly draws, but also enjoys making handmade accesories and try to explore many different mediums.
Maju Henao is a visual artist who creates illustrations to invite viewers of all ages to reconnect with their sense of wonder.Through her evocative compositions, Maju explores themes of joy and innocence. Each piece reflects a commitment to foster a sense of magic and adventure, encouraging audiences to embark on their own journeys of discovery.
