THE EXHIBITION
Maria and Anna’s art has many common themes, such as mental illness, brutal humor, and deep seriousness, and not least the story of the little comment that became the opening to so much art. This exhibition shows a small part of their art, and this time they are united in their interest in old ladies (Maria’s favorite) and fish (Anna’s favorite), which can work well together.

THE ARTISTS
Maria’s art persona MYROR I SKALLEN (Ants in the Head) began with a comment from a friend who called Maria’s handwriting “cartoonish.” This comment planted a seed that, several years later, blossomed into cartoon characters that were then given words.
Anna’s art project HOPPAS DU BLIR FISK (HOPE YOU BECOME FISH) began with a spelling mistake in a letter, where “frisk” (healthy) became “fisk” (fish), which several years later became poems and textile artworks.
